PANDORA EXEC: NO PLANS TO SELL BROADCAST RADIO STATION — The internet radio giant isn’t looking to offload South Dakota FM station KXMZ, Pandora general counsel Steve Bene told Alex in a recent interview for C-SPAN’s “The Communicators” — shooting down reports from earlier this year that a strategy reevaluation called for such a move. Pandora purchased the station in 2013 in a bid to lower its songwriting royalty payments. Bene blamed the earlier reports on “some misinformation” — though a March filing with the FCC does say the company was “considering whether it intends to remain a broadcaster or instead will divest KXMZ.”
